NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Correction continues to investigate the homicide of a correctional officer that occurred at the Morgan County Correctional Complex on Tuesday, February 24.

TELLICO PLAINS, Tenn. --- The renovations at the popular trout fishing destination, Green Cove Pond, near Tellico Plains in the Cherokee National Forest, have been completed after a multi-year improvement process. Green Cove Pond will officially open on March 1, 2026, for all licensed anglers to fish this beautiful location stocked with rainbow trout.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Department of Correction is investigating the homicide of a correctional officer at the Morgan County Correctional Complex that occurred on Tuesday, February 24. The inmate responsible has been identified, and the facility has been placed on lockdown. This is an ongoing investigation, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
