NASHVILLE – Tennessee started the new year with little movement in its seasonally adjusted unemployment rate. New data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) showed the statewide jobless number inched up only 0.1 of a percentage point to 3.5%. December’s revised rate was 3.4%.

Gov. Bill Lee has proclaimed March 1 as Arbor Day in Tennessee to recognize the importance of planting and maintaining trees in our state. This year’s celebration will be held at the Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, Tenn. The public is invited to the Arbor Day celebration and tree planting. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. CST. Parking is available at the Tennessee Agricultural Museum at 404 Hogan Road.
