NASHVILLE—By acclamation, Senator Ken Yager was elected Chairman of the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations Wednesday morning. He was nominated by Mayor Keith McDonald of Bartlett and the nomination was seconded by Senator Jeff Yarbro. Chairman Yager represents Senate District 12, having done so since the 106th General Assembly. Mayor Kevin Brooks of Cleveland, who had served as Interim Chairman since the death of Chairman Mike Carter in May 2021, was reelected as Vice Chairman by acclamation. The meeting began with a moment of silence honoring the memory of Chairman Carter. A resolution in his honor will be presented at the Commission’s next meeting.
