NASHVILLE – Recognizing the essential role volunteers play in an individual’s successful return from incarceration, the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) will resume volunteer services at all facilities and Day Reporting Centers beginning May 1, 2021.
NASHVILLE - In an effort to attract and retain correctional officers, the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) will begin offering additional incentives to those interested in a career in public safety. Effective April 21, 2021, all newly hired correctional officer applicants will receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus, payable over an 18-month period.

NASHVILLE – Death row inmate Derrick Quintero has passed away of apparent natural causes. Quintero, 59, was pronounced deceased at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution at 3:31 a.m. Monday, March 22.
