CSL Seqirus - Brandon Young

Dr. Brandon Young is the Mid-Atlantic Medical Science Liaison for CSL Seqirus. He completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), with a focus on drug design against antimicrobial resistant bacteria. He then matriculated to Emory University for his Post-Doctoral research where he was a Fellowships in Research and Science Teaching Scholar. His research focused on drug and vaccine design for Ebola virus. At CSL Seqirus we have a global focus on influenza, we work tirelessly on cutting-edge research, transformative technologies, and the latest methods of production and distribution.


Dynavax - Charles Gomes

Dr. Charles Gomes joined the Dynavax Medical Affairs team in 2022 and currently serves as Medical Science Liaison for the South region. Dr. Gomes joined Dynavax from Oxford Immunotec, where he was a Medical Science Liaison responsible for the expansion of their COVID-19, TB, and CMV pipelines in the Americas. Previously, Dr. Gomes has served in multiple R&D roles, such as a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Microbiology and Drug Delivery at the University of Texas at Austin and Senior Scientist roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Le Bonheur Children’s Foundation Research Institute. Dr. Gomes earned a BS and MSc. in Biotechnology from the Federal University of Pelotas in Brazil; he started his PhD in Infectious Disease & Immunology at the same institution and came to the US to finish his training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center

Berkley Davis currently excels as a Regional Account Manager for Moderna Therapeutics, a pioneering biotechnology company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that has established itself as a leader in mRNA technology since its inception in 2013. Berkley's expertise has facilitated Moderna's engagement with a broad spectrum of healthcare providers, including large IDNs, university medical systems, and state health departments. They have played a key role in collaborating with the Vaccine for Children's Program (VFC), pediatric clinics, internal medicine groups, and various independent and retail pharmacies. Berkley's career is marked by a consistent display of strategic thinking, exceptional business leadership, and a commitment to advancing healthcare through innovative technologies.


Novavax - Tyler Sangster

For the past ten years, Tyler Sanster has been involved in the vaccine field spanning TN, KY, IN, and AL. His experience ranges from pediatrics to flu and, most recently, COVID. He has collaborated with diverse segments of the vaccine landscape, including rural health clinics, health departments, private practices, and large health systems.


Spartan Medical - Dan Dermott

DanDermott

Daniel (Dan) DeMott is a retired US Army Veteran, who owns and operates DC Consults which is designated as Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). During Dan’s military career as a Bomb Technician, he has responded to terrorist and explosive threat throughout the world. He served on technical team for the US Secret Service for the protection of the President of the United States, Foreign Dignitaries, and National Events of Significance such as the Olympics and other World Sporting Events.

After his retirement Dan found himself drawn to the profession of Emergency Management, in which he served as Iowa Region One Homeland Security Chair, Homeland Security Advisor, and Director of Emergency Management for two Counties. Dan served as a training specialist during his military career when he was asked to take a position at Texas A&M Engineering Extension (TEEX) to develop Multi Agency Coordination Center training, Emergency Operation Planning and Exercises, and Incident Management field operations training nationally. Dan left TEEX to take a position as the Associate Director at National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4), directing the National Sports Security Lab. He was also responsible for implementing and instructing a newly developed course named Hacking for Defense (H4D), for the University of Southern Mississippi.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University in Business and Psychology


St. Jude Children's Hospital - Heather Brandt

Heather M. Brandt, PhD directs the HPV Cancer Prevention Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is co-associate director for outreach in the St. Jude Comprehensive Cancer Center and full member in the department of epidemiology and cancer control. She is a faculty affiliate in the University of Memphis School of Public Health and University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health. As a social and behavioral scientist, her research interests address disparities in cancer prevention and control and specifically working with thought leaders and partners to effectively use what we know works to increase HPV vaccination coverage.
