Welcome Baby

Welcome Baby is the Tennessee Department of Health’s universal outreach program. The purpose of Welcome Baby is to provide timely information to support families with newborns and to connect caregivers with services and resources available in their communities. Since 2013, the parents of every newborn in Tennessee have received a Welcome Baby book in the mail.

After a decade of mailing books to families, the Welcome Baby guide has been adapted into a mobile app. Transitioning from a physical book to a digital platform gives Tennessee caregivers a comprehensive and easily accessible toolkit for pregnancy, birth, and early childhood. The Welcome Baby app includes information on safe sleep, child development milestones, health guidance, and community resources. The app will continue to expand with additional educational content and features.

You can access the Welcome Baby guide by downloading the MyTN app. Use the search bar within the app to find “Welcome Baby,” or navigate to the Children & Families section.
