Tennessean, our students and teachers have faced exceptional disruption. Gov. Lee has called on schools to remain closed through the end of the school year.
Gov. Lee and the Department of Education have worked to provide resources for all levels of learning as we navigate this unprecedented crisis. Through partnerships, virtual learning, and the work of educators across the state, students are learning from their own homes.
Time lost in the classroom also has implications on overall wellbeing, especially for at-risk and vulnerable student populations. Tennessee Department of Education Commissioner Penny Schwinn will convene a COVID-19 Child Wellbeing Task Force to engage communities and provide support for students.
