Assistant Commissioner of Community and Rural Development
Sammie Arnold joined the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development (ECD) in August of 2013 and serves as Assistant Commissioner of Strategy and Legislative Affairs. He is the department’s chief liaison to the Tennessee General Assembly. Prior to joining ECD, Sammie worked in the state capitol building in Nashville as a legislative liaison for Governor Bill Haslam. He was also a staffer on Governor Haslam’s successful gubernatorial campaign in 2010. Sammie is a native of Dyersburg, TN. He received a B.A. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University, and a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
