One of the State of Tennessee's priorities is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data that is shared, received, processed and stored. In order to further Tennessee's cybersecurity posture, the TN Cybersecurity Advisory Council has committed to expanding a “whole-of-government” approach to include local governments and citizens.  The first step towards this new approach is to improve cybersecurity communications and awareness. With this goal in mind this page, the Tennessee Cyber Hub, was launched to increase security awareness and improve practices across public sector entities in Tennessee.

    Happy CSAM

Since 2004, the President of the United States and Congress have declared the month of October to be National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), a dedicated month for the public and private sectors to work together to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. The State of Tennessee also recognizes October as Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Governor Bill Lee has signed this year's proclamation, which you can view here.

This year’s NCSAM theme, Secure Our World, calls all Americans to action to adopt ongoing cybersecurity habits and improved online safety behaviors. Not only will Secure Our World remain a consistent theme for every Cybersecurity Awareness Month in the future, but it will also launch as CISA’s new cybersecurity awareness programIts key messages underscore how we can Secure Our Information, Secure Our Families and Secure Our Businesses by focusing on four simple, yet critical, actions that everyone should implement and continuously strengthen.

    Nationwide Cybersecurity Review (NCSR) Assessment

The Nationwide Cybersecurity Review (NCSR) is a no-cost, anonymous, annual self-assessment to help organizations improve their cybersecurity maturity. All state agencies, local governments (and departments), and educational institutions are encouraged to participate. The TN NCSR project is sponsored by the TN Cybersecurity Advisory Council and led by the State CIO and CISO.

CISA Issues New "Secure Tomorrow' Toolkit

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) published the first iteration of the Secure Tomorrow Series Toolkit, a diverse array of interactive and thought-provoking products for critical infrastructure stakeholders on how to use strategic foresight methods to identify emerging risks and potential risk management strategies to secure their critical infrastructure systems. Established by CISA’s National Risk Management Center (NRMC).

    StopRansomware.gov

StopRansomware.gov is the new US Government website launched to help organizations reduce their risk of ransomware. This site helps government agencies pool resources to better protect their networks against cyber threats like ransomware. The website will also highlight the latest ransomware related alerts.

    STOP. THINK. CONNECT.

Creating a safe cyber environment requires engagement from the entire community, not just security experts. This toolkit from CISA contains useful cybersecurity templates, resources, and educational materials - each designed for specific audiences.
