- Dual Copan® swab to be collected from the rectum.

Specimen Labeling |
- Two unique patient identifiers are required on the specimen matching order in the Lab Web Portal.

Specimen Storage and Preservation |
- Store specimens at 2-30°C.
|
Specimen Transportation |
- Ship specimens at 2-30°C.
- All infectious substance shipments must conform to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR 49 C.F.R. Parts 171-180).

Specimen Acceptability and Rejection |
- Two unique patient identifiers are required on the specimen matching order in the Lab Web Portal.
- The specimen must be tested within 5 days from the date of collection.
- Testing is only performed on specimens received from patients 22 years or older.
- Specimens received that do not meet the specimen requirements outlined in the Directory of Services or that deviate from the special instructions will not be acceptable for testing.
