Unarmed Security Guard
Private Protective ServicesA security guard/officer is an individual employed by a contract security company or a proprietary security organization to protect persons and/or property from criminal activities. If an individual maintains an armed guard registration, it is not necessary to also be registered as an "unarmed" guard.
Applicants for unarmed guard registration may work on a complete application while it is being processed but must have paid the application fee and keep a copy of their complete application on their person while they’re working. If their application is denied by our office, they can no longer work in that capacity until another complete application has been submitted and the application shows open/processing. Armed guards must wait until they receive their registration card prior to working.
