Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission

An individual who is employed by a licensed Motor Vehicle Dealer who is engaged in the business of effecting or attempting to effect the sale of motor vehicles or recreational vehicles.

Applicants must create their own CORE account when applying. If an applicant currently holds or previously held a salesperson license, they must submit a transfer application through their CORE account.

Licensing Requirements

  1. Must be 18 years of age.
  2.  If there are any prior criminal convictions and/or felonies, they must be reported within the application, and all final judgments must be attached.
  3. Must be associated with a licensed Motor Vehicle Dealer.

Application & Fees

Complete the “Initial Motor Vehicle Salesman Application” online at core.tn.gov. The fee for an initial application is $50.
