Instructions:

Pursuant, Tenn. Code Ann. §62-6-112(g), contractors with a Residential (BC-A and BC-A/r) license classification, those first licensed after January 1, 2009, are now required to show proof of eight (8) RCE hours from a Board approved RCE provider as a condition to renewal. To allow time for processing and prevent contracting while expired, please file your renewal at least 30 days prior to the expiration date.

• An individual designated as aresidential Qualifying Agent (QA) is responsible for attaining RCE on behalf of the licensed entity.
• For contractors with multiple residential QAs, only one (1) individual is required to obtain RCE to fulfill the license renewal requirement.
• The contractor is responsible for reporting RCE at the time of renewal and may attach to their online
• renewal application labeled “Other-Disclosures and Additional Info” along with their renewal documents (such as Financial Statement, Certificate of Insurance, Corporate Registration; WC Insurance or Exemption Registration, etc.).
• RCE certificates should only be submitted at the time of renewal. (Note: Future software may allow storing).
