Alex Martin
Assistant Commissioner - Regulatory Boards
Alex Martin serves as the Assistant Commissioner for the Division of Regulatory Boards. In this capacity, Mr. Martin serves as the Commissioner’s designee for several regulatory programs and oversees a team of over 100 employees who support Tennessee’s licensed professionals.
Previously, Mr. Martin served as Deputy Director of External Affairs and Director of Appointments for Governor Bill Lee. In his prior role, Martin worked with the Lee Administration to appoint many of the members of the Department’s regulatory boards and commissions. Mr. Martin is an eighth-generation Tennessean and served as the voting student member of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission while attending Tennessee Tech, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance.
