Learn More About the Apprenticeship Program

The 2024 Apprenticeship TN Conference in East Tennessee was held November 7, 2024, at TVA's boardroom in downtown Knoxville. Panelists included Eric H. Coons, Glenn Kelly Jr., Heather Montgomery, and Charles Rains.

The 2024 Apprenticeship TN Conference in Middle Tennessee was held November 20, 2024, at the General Motors plant in Spring Hill. Panelists inclulded Kevin Byrd, Larry Dickens, Allen T. Farley, Marla Rye, and Richard Urban.

The 2024 Apprenticeship TN Conference in West Tennessee was held November 12, 2024, at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Stanton. Panelists included James T. Farmer Jr., Daniel L. Huffman, Larry Meeks, Ginger Powell, and Stewart Stanfill.

Apprenticeship programs offer the opportunity to learn new skills while earning a wage. One Titans Construction Training Camp participant said the program has opened doors for him. An electrical engineering apprentice says that with the skills and knowledge she has gained, "The sky's the limit."

Monica Johnson has worked at Carlex for over 20 years, starting in janitorial services. Now she's part of the apprenticeship program, learning new skills and studying electrical engineering. "Just being able to have all this knowledge and experience, a lot of people don't get that," she said. "You just never know what you can become."

Mallory Scott works at NHC Dickson and participated in the apprenticeship program to further her nursing career. "The program gave me confidence in being able to take care of somebody other than myself," she said. "It's very hard work, but it's very rewarding."

Jason Lovett participated in the Titans Construction Training Camp, a 3.5-week program designed to teach and train builders. A former middle school math teacher, Lovett says the program "changed his life by opening doors into a new industry."
