The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s (TDOSHS) Driver Services mobile unit is now at the Elizabethton Driver Services Center, 1741 Hwy 19E Bypass, to assist citizens directly impacted by the recent floods in East Tennessee.

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) crews have worked tirelessly in the first 100 hours, to assess damage and inspect all state-owned bridges over water, 310 bridges across six counties in East Tennessee. On Monday, crews hauled 58 loads of debris to the landfill from just one area of I-26 in Unicoi County. The storm has caused historic destruction. We anticipate hundreds of millions of dollars in damage and months of closures.

On September 27, 2024, Governor Lee issued Executive Order No. 105, declaring a major disaster and state of emergency, encouraging state agencies to work with persons adversely affected and to take these circumstances into account with respect to providing services.

The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 8.00 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on September 30, 2024.
