NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) has awarded $1,125,000 in Reconnect Community grants to five Tennessee regions to establish community programs that will serve the needs of adults interested in completing a postsecondary credential.

NASHVILLE – The Labor Education Alignment Program (LEAP) will showcase its successes at sites across Tennessee on TN LEAP Day, February 29th. Education and employer sites throughout the twelve LEAP site areas will demonstrate the skills students are learning through the program and provide students an opportunity to meet with employers.

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) released the 2016 Academic Supply and Occupational Demand in Tennessee report, showcasing the supply of educated labor in Tennessee as it relates to job vacancies and job demand for various occupations. The report projects that a significant increase in the number of degrees awarded will continue through 2025, with particular growth among bachelor’s degrees. Additionally, jobs in manufacturing, construction, and transportation continue to be in high demand, while Tennessee colleges and universities offer programs to train students in those fields.
NASHVILLE – During the 2015-2016 academic year, the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) program officially awarded its one millionth scholarship. The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC), which administers the TELS program, marked the milestone of having paid out over one million scholarships to Tennessee college students to fund their higher education goals.
