NASHVILLE, TN– The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) has opened applications for the 2024 Families First Community Grant Program, an initiative that will make available approximately $5 million in funding to non-profit organizations providing direct services to strengthen Tennessee families in need and promote self-sufficiency.

The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 8.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on May 28, 2024.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling on SR 153 in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic. Tennessee Valley Authority contract crews will begin weekend closures of the SR 153 bridge over the Chickamauga Dam to perform resurfacing activities. Only one direction of SR 153 will be closed at a time. This work will occur over the next several weekends, except for Independence Day weekend. Once work on the SR 153 South side is complete (estimated 3 – 4 weekends) work will switch to the SR 153 North side (estimated 3 – 4 weekends).
