Policy 6.00: Architecture
Standards and guidelines will be maintained to support a common Information Technology (IT) infrastructure that enables the effective use of information technology resources in the State.

OBJECTIVES:
- Ensure compatibility across statewide IT resources.
- Enable the interchange of data.
- Allow for the cost-effective use of IT resources while maintaining maximum compatibility statewide.
- Provide standard prerequisite functional and technical requirements for IT procurements.
- Ensure agency technical direction is in alignment with overall State technology direction.
SCOPE:
The policy applies to all IT resources.
IMPLEMENTATION:
Department of Finance & Administration, Strategic Technology Solutions (STS)
- Maintain procedures to support the use of the information technology architecture at all levels (enterprise, departmental, and endpoint).
- Maintain procedures to ensure that the architecture evolves as technology progresses.
- Maintain the Tennessee Information Resources Architecture.
- Maintain a governance process for the review of agency requests for exceptions to the Tennessee Information Resources Architecture.
Agency Business Management and IT Resources
- Implement technology direction and objectives in alignment with overall State objectives and comply with the Tennessee Information Resources Architecture.
- Participate in the architectural review process and provide input to the review of components of the architecture.
