As Director of Communications, Elizabeth Johnson is the chief spokesperson for Governor Lee, advising the Governor and his staff on media strategy to advance the administration's key priorities and legislative initiatives. She is responsible for managing internal and external communications across the executive branch, ensuring cohesive messaging and effective engagement with Tennesseans.

Before joining the Lee administration in 2023, Johnson served as Press Secretary for Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti. Her previous experience includes an extensive career in broadcast journalism as a television anchor and reporter, and service with Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Johnson graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Information Sciences and a minor in Political Science. Originally from Orlando, Florida, she and her husband, Andrew, live in Nashville and are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
