Brittany Thompson

Director, Internal Audit

Brittany Thompson was appointed as the Department's Director of Internal Audit in 2025. In this capacity, Ms. Thompson will lead a team of four auditors, manage compliance audits, conduct internal investigations, and ensure that the Department is meeting the standards of the Financial Integrity Act.

A seasoned auditor with nearly 15 years’ professional experience and numerous professional certifications, Ms. Thompson began her career with the Department’s Internal Audit team in 2013. Since then, she has distinguished herself with her work, rising through the ranks to Auditor 4

Ms. Thompson, who has a Master of Business Administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, has also earned certifications as a Certified Internal Auditor and as a Certified Fraud Examiner.
