Rebekah Parkhurst
General Counsel
Rebekah Parkhurst was appointed as General Counsel for the Department in December 2025. In that role, she serves as chief legal advisor for the Department and is responsible for overseeing legal services to all Department divisions along with a dedicated team of attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff. Prior to serving as General Counsel, Mrs. Parkhurst served in various roles with the State beginning in 2005, including serving as law clerk at the Tennessee Supreme Court, an Assistant Attorney General, and Deputy General Counsel with the Department of Human Services. Mrs. Parkhurst earned her law degree from Appalachian School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University.
