EE213-00 Commercial & Residential Photovoltaic Concepts (3)
Overview
This three hour course focuses on the requirements, techniques and procedures, and the technical knowledge needed for the understanding and inspection of commercial and residential photovoltaic applications, as well as instruction on the requirements of the International Residential Code, International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and National Electric Code (NEC). This course will also explain the dangers associated with the free-flow of power from photovoltaic cells to the main shut-off, particularly during daylight periods, causing increased risk of shock, serious injury, or even death. Education on this relatively unfamiliar utility is important to contractors, inspectors, and even fire fighters who are responding to a fire where solar panels are in service.
