Landscape Architects
Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering ExaminersLandscape Architects are knowledgeable in site design, stormwater management, roadway alignment design, and many other technical and scientific areas. Landscape Architects create safe and accessible public spaces like parks and plazas. They are also educated in the creation of transportation systems.
Requirements
Examination Requirements:
- The Board no longer pre-approves candidates for examinations. All exam inquiries should be directed to CLARB here: https://www.clarb.org/exam/ . The LARE examination must be completed prior to applying for licensure.
Education Requirements:
- A degree in landscape architecture that has been accredited by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB).
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in landscape architectural work satisfactory to the Board, of which at least two (2) years must be completed in the office of a practicing registered landscape architect. To receive credit for practical training time, an applicant must be employed by the same employer for a period of not less than four consecutive calendar months. A work month is considered to be at least 140 hours.
