Laura Costin
Administrative Director, TN Firefighting Commission
Laura Costin is the Administrative Director for the Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education Commission. She joined the Department in December 2019 as an Administrative Secretary in the Department's Division of Regulatory Boards. She holds a Bachelor of Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Occupational Leadership as well as a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification. She successfully completed both the Commissioner’s Development Academy and the Tennessee Government Professionals Institute.
Laura is currently pursuing a Master's of Professional Studies with a concentration in Strategic Leadership.
Laura and her husband Robert of 35 years moved to Tennessee from Missouri in 1990. The couple have four grown children and three grandchildren. In their free time, they enjoy spending time camping, boating, kayaking, and being outdoors.
