Remember shotgun plugs and Migratory Bird Permit. Hunter Education required for those born on or after January, 1, 1969.

 

 

 

 

  • TWRA WMA Fields
  • Bark Camp Barrens WMA

    Crops planted: 15 acres sunflower, 10 acres millet, 50 acres wheat​.  Due to wet conditions and forecasted weather conditions we are unsure of exact acreage amounts.

    Hunt Dates: Open with statewide seasons. (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1)

    Directions: (Coffee County) - Take Exit 114 off of I-24 to Hwy. 41 south. Turn left onto Asbury Road, then onto Clifton Scott Road. Turn right onto Warren Road and Bark Camp Barrens WMA is on the left. There will be dove field signs starting on Asbury Road.

    Cheatham WMA - Dysons Ditch

    Crops planted : 35 acres of  wheat-- burned, disced ground & top sown.

    Hunt Dates:   Open with the statewide seasons. (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1). Hunting allowed from designated fields only.

    Directions: Take Hwy 112 to Chapmansboro Rd.  Stay on Chapmansboro Rd until you see the parking lot for Dysons Ditch.

    Cheatham Lake WMA

    Crops planted: 22 acres of millet burned.

    Hunt Dates: Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1). Hunting allowed from designated fields only.

    Directions: (Cheatham County) - Hwy 49 at Little Bluff Creek

    Haley-Jaqueth WMA - Youth

    Crops planted: 20 acres of wheat top sown.

    Hunt Dates:   Youth hunt is on Sept. 2 (email signup required) . Only 49 staked positions available.  Morning hunt is for the registered youth hunters.  Afternoon hunt is for all youths without registration.    Sunday, September 3rd is closed to everyone.  Adults can hunt on Monday, September 4.  Field will be closed Tuesday-Friday and then open on Saturdays through the first dove segment.

    Directions: (Williamson County) - From 840, take Exit 42 South (Lewisburg/Shelbyville) on Hwy. 31A/41A. Stay on Hwy. 31A/41A and when you come to the Hwy. 31A/41A split, take Hwy. 31A and go 0.7 mile. The dove field will be on the left (east side).

    Haynes Bottom WMA

    Crops planted: 20 acres of sunflowers. 

    Hunt Dates: Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1).  Hunting allowed from designated fields only. 

    Directions: (Montgomery County) - At the end of Woodrow Road in the Dodsonville Community.

    Laurel Hill WMA

    Crops planted : 60 acres of wheat, 60 acres of millet & 60 acres of sunflowers.

    Hunt Dates: Same as statewide season, except closed at sunset the day before and during big game hunts. (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1)  Hunting allowed in designated fields only.  No one is allowed on the field or to reserve hunting spots by placement of dove buckets before 7:00 am opening day.

    Directions: (Lawrence County) Napier Rd. Behind old checking Station (291 Napier Rd Lawrenceburg TN is address next door). From Summertown, take Hwy. 20 to State Road 240. Go approximately 8.5 miles and turn right on State Road 241 North. Go approximately 3 miles.

    Old Hickory WMA at Barton's Creek - -Youth

    Crops planted: 30 acres of top sown wheat. 

    Hunt Dates:  Young Sportsman Dove Hunt on Barton's Creek Peninsula (Youth only) - September 2 (6:00 a.m. - sunset). Opens September 4 for all ages.  Staked positions will be assigned by a drawing held on-site at 6 a.m. and hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt. Registration begins at 5:30am.  Lead shot permitted.  Each young sportsman must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult. 

    Directions: Located off North Denny Road in Wilson County.

    Owl Hollow Mill

    Crops planted: 30 acres of millet, sunflowers and wheat 

    Hunt Dates:  Sept. 2nd - Young Sportsman Only.  Each young sportman (6-16 years of age) must be accompanied by a licensed non-hunting adult.   Sept. 3rd Open to all ages through the remainder of the season. 

    Directions: From I-24, take Exit 127 and follow Hwy. 64/50 west approximately 15 miles. Exit onto Hwy. 41A/64 North (Cowan Hwy.). Go 2.5 miles to Winchester Square. Follow Hwy. 50 West signs approximately 4 miles. Turn right on Maple Bend Road. The field is 1 mile ahead at the end of Maple Bend Road. (the road will turn from pavement to gravel).

    Percy Priest Unit 1

    Crops planted: 43 acres of top sown wheat. 

    Hunt Dates: Opens September 1 (noon - sunset). Shooting from staked positions only.  On September 1, staked positions will be assigned by a drawing held on-site  and hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt.  Registration for the drawing will begin at 7am and drawing will be held onsite at 10am.   Successful applicants must be at their staked positions at the start of shooting hours.  Open Saturdays and Sundays only during the first and second segments. 

    Directions: (Davidson/Rutherford/Wilson counties) From Nashville, take I-24 east to Exit 64 (Waldron Rd.); turn right off the exit; turn right on Murfreesboro Rd; turn left on Fergus Road at a Clayton Mobile Homes Sales Park; go 3/4 mile and turn right on Jones Mill Rd; follow the dove hunting signs.

    Williamsport

    Crops planted: 34 acres of wheat top sown.

    Hunt Dates: September 1 (noon - sunset), stake positions, & thereafter every Saturday.

    Directions: From Columbia, take Hwy. 50 to Williamsport. Cross the Duck River Bridge and turn right on Snow Creek Road. Go a few miles and turn left onto Leiper's Creek Road (this is the 1st left). The dove field will be down the road a few miles on the left. Signs will be available. Parking is in designated area. No parking on the side of the road. There will be personnel present to direct you to the parking areas.

    Yanahli

    Crops planted: 31 acres of wheat top sown.

    Hunt Dates: September 1 (noon - sunset), open every day with statewide seasons.


    Directions:  (Maury County) - From Nashville, take I-65 south to Hwy. 50. Go west on Hwy. 50 until you reach Fred White Road. Turn right onto Fred White Road. Go down the road until you see the parking lot signs. The field is on both sides of Fred White Road just before you get to the Howard Bridge. Parking is allowed only in two designated parking lots. No parking on the side of the road.
