Nashville, TN–Commissioner of Education, Lizzette Reynolds, was awarded the Honorary Tennessee FFA State Degree, which is awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the FFA and agricultural education at the state level. This degree acknowledges the efforts of those who support FFA chapters and help advance agricultural education, thereby inspiring students to achieve their goals in agriculture and related fields.

Nashville, TN–Throughout March, the Tennessee Department of Education invites all Tennesseans to celebrate Tennessee Literacy Month, proclaimed by Governor Bill Lee. During March, the department will highlight the importance of early literacy, including investments of $35M of grant funds to prepare students to flourish and thrive in any pathway they pursue.

Nashville, TN—Today, the Tennessee Department of Education and the Tennessee Education Research Alliance (TERA) at Vanderbilt University launched the 2026 Tennessee Educator Survey. All educators, administrators, and certified school staff in Tennessee are invited to participate in the survey. Sharing perspectives and expertise on issues affecting classrooms and schools will help shape strategies and goals at the state, district, and local levels.
