The agenda includes approval of equine participation in the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program, an update on the sunset hearing, a review of the commission’s statutory duties and a report on equine welfare and disease. The commission will also discuss the status of expired member terms and the nomination of new members, establish priorities for the upcoming year and discuss the annual report.
The meeting is open to the public to attend. A portion of the meeting will be reserved for public comment, which may be submitted either orally or in writing regarding business before the commission.
The Tennessee Equine Health Advisory Commission studies the state of equine health, emerging health concerns, and other equine industry issues the commission deems relevant. The commission consists of nine members and is attached to the Tennessee Department of Agriculture for administrative purposes.
