Out-of-State Resource Deployments

The Division deploys employee and equipment resources on an annual basis to state and federal wildland fire and all hazard incidents across the South and across the nation. This program capitalizes on annual deployment opportunities for hand crews, dozers, engines, and single resources to increase training and experience opportunities as part of the Division’s Culture of Preparedness initiative while also aligning with State Forester David Arnold’s vision of increased safety and further Incident Command System (ICS) adoption. Combined, Federal and State Compact opportunities provide a means for the Division to meet budgetary constraints through revenue generation, assist those in need of emergency assistance, and bring expertise back to Tennessee to support incidents within the state.
