Federal Government Extended REAL ID Deadline to October 1, 2021



Federal law requires that your first application for a REAL ID compliant credential be made in person. You can apply for a REAL ID compliant credential at a location listed below.  Before visiting any of these locations to apply for a REAL ID, please review the required documents you will need to bring with you.

After being issued your first REAL ID compliant credential, you may renew online, use a Self-Service Kiosk or visit a County Clerk Office for renewal.

Make a REAL ID appointment!

Customers can now schedule an appointment for REAL ID at any Driver Services Center. Scheduling an appointment allows a customer to be served at a Driver Services Center on a specific day and time. To make a REAL ID appointment, click the button below and navigate to the appointment tab.

This is a list of County Clerk partners that are issuing REAL IDs to current Tennessee driver license and ID holders at this time.
