THP Accepts Trooper Resignation in Lieu of Termination

NASHVILLE --- Trooper David Trivette has resigned in lieu of termination following an incident Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Sumner County. The resignation follows a simple assault charge issued by the Hendersonville Police Department on Saturday evening.

Trooper Trivette notified his supervisor on Sunday morning, August 9, 2009, that he had been cited for simple assault by the Hendersonville Police Department in Sumner County. Trooper Trivette submitted his resignation Sunday in lieu of a departmental investigation/termination. Following the submission of a signed resignation, all departmental equipment, including Trooper Trivette’s commissioned card and weapons, were secured.
 
Both THP Commander Colonel Mike Walker and Department of Safety Commissioner Dave Mitchell were notified of the resignation on Sunday.
 
Trooper Trivette, 33, was commissioned as a Road Trooper in 2005 and worked out of Robertson County in the Nashville District.
