Nashville, Tennessee — A man, suspected of robbing a bank in Kentucky, is being held in the Campbell County Jail after being arrested by members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Thursday morning, Lieutenant Don Baird and Sergeant Derrick Watson learned that 48-year-old Christopher Kimmich was wanted for the alleged armed robbery of a Florence, Kentucky, bank on April 8, 2008, and that he could be in the Campbell County area.

While conducting a search, Lt. Baird saw a blue 2004 Dodge pickup truck, which matched the description of Kimmich’s vehicle, traveling north on I-75 near mile marker 132.  Lt. Baird verified the vehicle’s license plate number and notified Sgt. Watson and Trooper Kelly Smith, who were at exit 134.  Moments later, the suspect exited the interstate there and was stopped at the top of the 134 exit ramp.

Kimmich was taken into custody without incident.  A .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and money was recovered during the stop.
