Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes I-65 Southbound in Sumner County

Nashville, Tennessee --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is diverting traffic off Interstate 65 southbound in Sumner County while State Troopers work a multi-vehicle crash near the 103 mile marker.  At least 14 vehicles, including three tractor-trailers, are involved in the crash.  Most of the injuries appear to be minor, but, at this time, it is unknown how many people are being transported or treated.

Right now traffic is being diverted at the 108 and the 104 exits, and investigators estimate that the crash will not be cleared until later this evening.

The Tennessee Department of Safety’s mission is (www.tennessee.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public.  The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services.
