DICKSON, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Meng Wang, former owner of Nori Japanese Grill, pleading guilty to two counts of tax fraud Monday. Judge David Wolfe placed Wang on two years’ supervised probation and ordered him to pay restitution of $24,699.99.

 Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Microvast officials announced today that the company will establish a new manufacturing facility in Clarksville.  Microvast will invest $220 million and create 287 jobs in Montgomery County.

Revenue special agents arrested Sutphin,46, on Monday. Bond was set at $50,000.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – More than 100 Soldiers assigned to the Tennessee National Guard’s 253rd Military Police Company returned home Wednesday, Feb. 3, after an 11-month deployment overseas.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Amazon officials announced today that Amazon will establish a new, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in Alcoa. The site, which is anticipated to launch in 2022, will create nearly 800 new, full-time jobs with benefits and opportunities to engage with advanced robotics. Amazon employees at the more than 634,812-square-foot fulfillment center will pick, pack and ship smaller customer items, such as books, electronics and consumer goods.

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) appointed Dr. Emily House as the agency’s new executive director after last week’s scheduled meeting. House succeeds Mike Krause, who served in the role since 2016. She assumed the duties immediately following the meeting.
