A new study by the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, found the satisfaction rate among all TennCare recipients held steady at 94 percent, marking the 12th straight year above 90 percent. The Impact of TennCare: A Survey of Recipients, 2020, also showed the percentage of uninsured children in the state remained low at 2.8 percent.

Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration Commissioner Butch Eley today announced that overall January state tax revenues exceeded budgeted estimates.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Modine Manufacturing Company officials announced today that the company will expand its plant in Lawrenceburg, investing $1.2 million and creating 45 jobs.   The project is a relocation of three product lines from Missouri and Rhode Island to its Lawrenceburg plant.  

NASHVILLE – Tennessee will see expanding access to COVID-19 vaccination with the launch of a new federal retail pharmacy program. The first phase of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program for COVID-19 Vaccination will launch in Tennessee February 12, with select pharmacies offering vaccinations in accordance with the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. These vaccinations will be provided at no cost to patients and will be available by appointment only.

A woman living in Abingdon, Virginia is charged with TennCare fraud and theft of property for allegedly falsely reporting a Tennessee residence to obtain healthcare insurance benefits through the TennCare program.

DICKSON, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Meng Wang, former owner of Nori Japanese Grill, pleading guilty to two counts of tax fraud Monday. Judge David Wolfe placed Wang on two years’ supervised probation and ordered him to pay restitution of $24,699.99.

 Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Microvast officials announced today that the company will establish a new manufacturing facility in Clarksville.  Microvast will invest $220 million and create 287 jobs in Montgomery County. 

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Health reminds adults aged 70 and older they are now eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccination. TDH estimates there are about 300,000 Tennesseans in the 70-74 year age group, and only about one in three Tennesseans in this group have been vaccinated to date.

Blountville, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictments and arrest of Royce Franklin Sutphin for tax evasion, theft, and forgery. Revenue special agents arrested Sutphin,46, on Monday. Bond was set at $50,000.
