Governor Bill Lee has recognized Terry Minton of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture with the Governor’s Excellence in Service Award. The biannual award recognizes outstanding state employees who are at the forefront of improving the way Tennessee State Government delivers services.

NASHVILLE – Each June, Tennessee counties experience an increase in unemployment as schools close for summer break and lay off workers. Recent college graduates entering the workforce for the first time also impact the data each year. Once again this June, data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) showed jobless rates increased in each of the state’s 95 counties.

BLOUNTVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led Royce Franklin Sutphin’s no contest plea. Judge William Rogers accepted Sutphin’s plea to two counts of use tax fraud, six counts of forgery, and one count of theft over $1,000. He was sentenced to two years of probation. The judge ordered restitution in the amount of $2,332.50 to the Department of Revenue.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Chewy, Inc. officials announced today that the company will establish a new regional e-commerce fulfillment center in Wilson County, creating 1,200 new jobs.
