NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam today appointed Jennifer S. Nichols of Memphis as Criminal Court Judge for the 30th Judicial District, which serves Shelby County. Nichols, 55, replaces Judge James C. Beasley, Jr., who retired effective December 31.

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development today released its 2018 Official Tennessee Vacation Guide.

Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and AGC Glass North America officials announced today that the company will expand its operations Church Hill. The glass manufacturer will invest $40.6 million and create 85 new jobs in Hawkins County.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In a Change of Command Ceremony held on Sunday, January 7th at National Guard Headquarters in Nashville, Governor Bill Haslam and Major General Max Haston, Tennessee’s Adjutant General, named Colonel Jason Glass as the new Assistant Adjutant General for the Tennessee Air National Guard. Col. Glass previously served as the Commander of the 218th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group (ISRG), Tennessee Air National Guard at Joint Base Berry Field, Nashville.

The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development today announced the 29 recipients of the Work-Based Learning Grant. In total, TNECD awarded more than $710,000 to school districts that have designed programs to promote career skills and readiness among Tennessee students.

On view at the Parthenon through the end of January, Day at the Fair is a celebration of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition and includes artifacts chosen from the David Ewing collection. He’ll discuss those artifacts and the significance of the Exposition.
