Tennessee Private Investigation & Polygraph ExaminersA polygraph examiner is any person who purports to be able to detect deception or verify truth of statements through instrumentation or by means of a mechanical device.
Requirements
Licensing Requirements
1. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
2. Must be a citizen of the United States.
3. Successful completion of a background check through IdentoGO. For information, including locations, scheduling, and guidance for out-of-state applicants, visit https://www.identogo.com.
Education Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, OR
2. 2 years of college credits and at least 5 years of experience involving substantial criminal, counterintelligence, or private investigative work immediately preceding the date of application.
Internship
1. Successful completion of a 6-month internship, OR
2. Evidence of active engagement in polygraph examinations in another state for at least 5 consecutive years.
