Wendy Garvin

Executive Director of the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy

Wendy Garvin has served as the Executive Director of the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy since 2015. As Executive Director, Ms. Garvin is responsible for executing the Board’s mission and providing leadership and direction in the day-to-day operations of the Board.

Ms. Garvin has been active in supporting the accountancy profession since 1999. Prior to joining the state board, she was the Director of Professional Services for the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) where she was responsible for the administration of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Peer Review Program, the AICPA Joint Ethics Enforcement Program and served as a liaison to the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. Ms. Garvin has served on a variety of committees to represent Tennessee at the national level, including most recently, the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Examination Administration Committee, AICPA’s Board of Examiners, and NASBA’s Peer Review Compliance Committee.

Ms. Garvin has also served as a volunteer mentor for the Tennessee Promise Scholarship Program. In this role, she helped students navigate the college admission process. She holds a bachelors of science degree in Consumer Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
