NASHVILLE, April 18, 2017 -- Making trip planning simpler and more inspirational, the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development today launches a revamped, personalized travel planning experience on a completely redesigned website.

The overhaul of www.tnvacation.com features a digital experience platform and content management system that enables the site to “learn” the interests of website visitors as they explore the site, and helps them build click-and-save itinerary maps to enhance vacation planning.

Designed for both desktop and mobile devices, the website features a storytelling format with a clean design, large, inspiring photographs and straightforward navigation tools. A personalization engine automatically organizes and presents information about Tennessee destinations, attractions and experiences by analyzing the site visitor’s interests, updating content in real time.

For example, if a visitor from Chicago is interested in outdoor activities, more stories and imagery to inspire her to explore Tennessee’s abundant natural beauty populate as she navigates the site. A visitor from Arkansas who recently opened an e-mail about Memphis barbecue will be served up mouth-watering images of that city’s famous wet and dry rub ribs.

Each participating Tennessee tourism destination, attraction and event has its own “partner page,” featuring images, videos, TripAdvisor ratings, latest news, stories, and links to the attraction’s website, helping TNVacation.com visitors turn inspiration into real-time vacation planning.

The easily-accessible “Add to Trip” feature, enables web visitors to populate their personalized “My Trip” page to share or save for later reference.

To launch the new TNVacation.com, Tennessee Tourism has joined forces with four well-known Tennessee celebrity travel bloggers to launch “Match My Trip,” a sweepstakes offering a chance to win one of four Tennessee vacation packages. To play, visitors try to correctly guess the order of each Tennessee traveler’s itinerary from images provided. Those who match the itinerary correctly may then enter a drawing to win the trip. No purchase is necessary. Please see TNVacation.com for more details.

“Our desire was to create an inspirational travel-planning experience in a simple manner,” said Commissioner Kevin Triplett, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “For the first time, our storytelling, marketing campaigns, industry partner pages and media efforts are directly connected to our unique visitors, helping them to plan a Tennessee vacation faster and easier than ever.”
