Middle Tennessee Weekly Construction Lane Closure April 2-8, 2015

BEDFORD COUNTY, Reconstruction of US 231 (SR 10)

  • From now through November 2015, Traffic will be reduced from four (4) to two (2) lanes on US 231 (SR 10) in Shelbyville due to utility and grading operations. One lane will remain open in each direction with an added turning lane.

 

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Bridge Replacement on I-40 over the Harpeth River

  • From now through July 2016, Anderson Road at the I-40 overpass will be closed. Detours are in place.

 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Bridge Repair on SR 45 (Old Hickory Blvd) over the Cumberland River

  • From now through November 2015, Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on SR 45 in Old Hickory due to bridge repair. One lane will remain open in each direction.

 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Bridge Repair on I-24 (Silliman Evans Bridge) over the Cumberland River

  • Monday April 6, 8PM-5AM, There will be a lane closure on I-24 eastbound at MM 50 (Silliman Evans Bridge) to set barrier rail on inside lanes.

Look Ahead:

  • Friday April 10, 8PM through Monday April 13, 5AM, There will be two lanes closed on I-24 eastbound at MM 50 (Silliman Evans Bridge) for repair work. Two lanes will remain open.

 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Nashville Smartway ITS Expansion Project at Various Locations

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be a shoulder closure on I-24 westbound at MM 42 (between Old Hickory Blvd and Briley Pkwy) to complete camera installation and testing.

 

DAVIDSON AND RUTHERFORD COUNTIES, Nashville Smartway ITS I-24 Expansion Project

  • Monday April 6 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating shoulder closures on I-24 (approximately between MM 58 and Elam Road) and SR 840 (approximately between MM 48 and MM 57) for pull box installation and conduit proving/repairs.
  • Wednesday April 8 through Thursday April 9, 9PM- 6AM, There will be a lane closure on I-24 in both directions near MM 77 (between Medical Center Pkwy and Hwy 96) in order to install portable barrier wall and portable impact attenuators.

 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, On-Call Concrete Pavement Repair at Various Locations

  • Monday April 6 through Wednesday April 8, 8PM-6AM, There will be a lane closure on the ramp from I-40 East to I-440 East AND the ramp from I-40 West to I-440 East will be closed so that sawing for concrete repair may be done.

 

DAVIDSON AND RUTHERFORD COUNTIES, Removal & Replacement of HOV Signing & Thermoplastic Markings on Various Interstates

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be a shoulder closure on I-24, including on-ramps, from the Davidson County line to SR 231 (Shelbyville Hwy) for HOV sign installation.
  • Monday April 6 through Wednesday April 8, 8PM-6AM, There will be a lane closure on I-24 in both directions, from Briley Pkwy (SR 155) to Old Hickory Blvd (SR 171), to remove overhead HOV signage and install median barrier wall HOV signage with saddle mounts.

 

MACON COUNTY, Reconstruction of SR 10 from south of Goose Creek to SR 52

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 7AM-5PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be alternating lane closures on SR 10 for clearing and grubbing operations, blasting operations and utility relocation.

 

ROBERTSON AND SUMNER COUNTIES, SmartWay ITS I-65 (North of Nashville) Expansion Project

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be a shoulder closure on I-65 southbound from MM 105 to MM 109 and northbound from MM 107.8 to MM 108.2 for trenching and conduit installation.

 

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Construction of New Interchange on SR 1 (Broad St) at SR 10/SR 96 (Memorial Blvd/Old Fort Pkwy)

  • Monday April 6 through Wednesday April 8, 8PM-6AM, There will be alternating lane closures on SR 96, Broad Street, Ridgely Road, and College Street for underground utility crossings.

 

SUMNER COUNTY, Extension of Concrete Box Bridge on SR 109

  • From now through June 2015, Traffic will be reduced from two (2) lanes to one (1) lane on SR 109 northbound (S Broadway) at Jackson Road in Portland for concrete box bridge work. One lane will remain open. Message boards are in place.

 

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of SR 253 (Concord Rd) from Sunset Road to Nolensville Road

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), Traffic will be flagged during construction operations as needed.

 

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 840 to SR 248, Interchange Modifications and Widening on SR 248 from Lewisburg Pike to west of I-65

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 1 PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be rolling roadblocks on I-65 in both directions between MM 61 and MM 63 for blasting.
  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be periodic lane closures on SR 248 (Goose Creek Bypass) to prepare for sidewalk placement. Flaggers will be utilized.

 

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, SmartWay ITS I-65 (South of Nashville) Expansion Project

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be a shoulder closure on SR 840 from MM 28.7 to MM 31.3 for trenching and conduit installation.

 

Performance Based Maintenance Work on I-24, I-65 and SR 840

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be possible lane closures at the following locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as-needed basis:
  • SR 840, Williamson, Rutherford and Wilson
  • I-24, Rutherford and Bedford
  • I-65, Williamson

 

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 8PM-5AM, (excluding holiday weekend),  There will be possible lane closures at the following locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to repair guardrail on an as-needed basis:
  • SR 840, Williamson, Rutherford and Wilson
  • I-24, Rutherford and Bedford
  • I-65, Williamson

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as-needed basis:
  • I-24 Cheatham, Davidson, Montgomery and Robertson Counties
  • I-65 Davidson, Robertson, and Williamson Counties
  • I-40 Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Hickman, and Humphreys Counties

 

  • Thursday April 2 through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend),  There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee for tree trimming and removal on an as-needed basis:
  • I-24 Cheatham, Montgomery and Robertson Counties
  • I-65 Maury and Robertson Counties
  • I-40 Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman and Humphreys Counties

 

Davidson County

  • Thursday April 2 and Monday April 6 through Wednesday, April 8, 8PM-5AM There will be mobile operations in various locations for sweeping operations. This will affect the shoulders or inside and outside lanes.
  • Monday April 6 through Wednesday, April 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-24 in both directions, between MM 32.0 (Cheatham-Davidson County line) and MM 40.5 (SR 45/ Old Hickory Blvd) for milling and paving. One lane will remain open.
  • Monday April 6 through Wednesday, April 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 eastbound between MM 201 (US 70/Charlotte Pike) and MM 204 (SR 155/Briley Parkway) for milling and paving. One lane will remain open.
  • Wednesday April 8, 8PM-6AM, There will be lane closures on I-40 in both directions, between 8th Avenue South and 12th Avenue South, so that concrete barrier wall may be set. Three lanes will remain open in each direction.

 

Giles County

  • Wednesday April 8, 8AM-12PM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-65 northbound at MM 3.95 on Elk River Bridge so that survey work can be done.

 

Marshall County

  • Monday April 6, 9AM-3PM, There will be a lane closure on N Ellington Pkwy (US 431/SR 50/SR 106), between SR 417 (W Ellington Pkwy) and N 5th Avenue, for asbestos testing and evaluation of the existing bridge structure. One lane will be open. Flaggers will be utilized.

 

Maury County

  • Monday April 6 Through Wednesday April 8, 9AM-2PM, There will lane closures on I-65 in both directions at MM 50.9 for construction of a median crossover. Northbound lane closures will not begin until 9AM and southbound lane closures will end by 2PM.

 

Miscellaneous Non-TDOT Projects

HCA

  • From now through Wednesday April 29, 2015, 6AM, 10AM and/or 2PM, The on-ramp to I-40 westbound from Charlotte Avenue (downtown) will be closed for 5-10 minutes for blasting operations in the area. This will occur weekly, Tuesdays through Saturdays.

 

Metro Public Works

  • Wednesday April 1 through Saturday April 18, The northbound lanes of 1st Avenue South (US 70/ SR 24), between Korean Veterans Blvd and Demonbreun Street, will be closed for repaving and signal work. All northbound traffic will be detoured. Officers will be utilized during rush hours.

 

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.  Information in this report is provided to the Department of Transportation by the contractors.  Most work is weather dependent and subject to change due to inclement weather.
