Jobs, Education and Other Valuable Resources at Veterans Outreach Event and Job Fair in Cumberland County

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs (TDVA) is partnering with U.S. Congressman Diane Black, State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston), Senator Charlotte Burks (D-Monterey), Representative Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville), Representative Ron Travis (R-Dayton), Representative John Mark Windle (D-Livingston),  Representative Kelly Keisling (R-Byrdstown) and Representative Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) as well as more than 40 federal, state, local public and private partners to ensure Veterans, dependents and surviving family members in Bledsoe, Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, Overton, Putnam, Rhea and White Counties get access to employment opportunities, educational resources, mental health and substance abuse services, business resources and claims assistance. 

Representatives from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as well as Bethel University, Tennessee Technological University, Tennessee College of Applied Technology and Volunteer State Community College will participate in the Veterans Outreach Event and Job Fair on Tuesday, June 10 from 10am to 2pm at the Community County Community Complex in Crossville.  Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security will participate to offer Commercial Driving Certification for qualified Veterans as well as recruit Veterans for open positions. Tennessee Department of Correction, Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and Tennessee Department of Military will also recruit Veterans.

Veterans will need to present a copy of their DD-214 and any other service related documents to assist with filing claims for federal benefits. 

WHO:               Several federal and state departments as well as higher education institutions gather to assist Veterans and their families in Bledsoe, Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, Overton, Putnam, Rhea and White Counties
