Concrete Repair Scheduled for Ramps on I-24 East near Mile Marker 184 in Hamilton County

Work will require closure of the ramps for the next two weekends

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will close the on-ramp to I-24 East from South Terrace Road and the off-ramp to Moore Road from I-24 East at Exit 184 in Hamilton County for the next two weekends to perform concrete repair.

Beginning at 9:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 4 and ending by 6:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, April 7 the on-ramp to I-24 East from South Terrace Road and the off-ramp to Moore Road from I-24 East at Exit 184 will be closed to traffic.  The following weekend, concrete ramp repair work will resume at this location during the same time period.  From 9:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 11 until 6:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, April 14 the contractor will once again close the ramps to traffic to continue concrete ramp repair work.

During this work, the Tennessee Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control, and detours will be posted.  Also, traffic information will be displayed on TDOT’s SmartWay Dynamic Message Signs, and several message boards will be used to provide traffic information to the public.

This concrete repair work is being done as part of a statewide on-call concrete repair contract.  This work is weather dependent.  Should weather or unforeseen circumstances postpone this work, it will be rescheduled to take place as soon as possible.

As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and Know Before You Go! by checking travel conditions before leaving for their destination.  Drivers should never tweet, text or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
