Jobs, Education and Other Valuable Resources at Veterans Outreach Event and Job Fair in Perry County

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs (TDVA) is partnering with State Senator Joey Hensley (R-Hohenwald) and Representative Steve McDaniel (R-Parkers Crossroads) as well as more than 30 federal, state, local public and private partners to ensure Veterans, dependents and surviving family members in Lewis, Perry and Wayne Counties get access to employment opportunities, educational resources, mental health and substance abuse services, business resources and claims assistance. 

United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as well as Bethel University, Lipscomb University and Cumberland University will participate in the Veterans Outreach Event and Job Fair on Friday, April 25 from 10am to 2pm at the Tennessee Career Center at 113 Factory Street in Linden, TN.  Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security will participate to offer Commercial Driving Certification for qualified Veterans as well as to recruit Veterans for open positions. Tennessee Department of Correction, Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and Tennessee Department of Military will also recruit Veterans.  A full vendor list is attached to this advisory and will be posted on the TDVA Events page.

Veterans will need to present a copy of their DD-214 and any other service related documents to assist with filing claims for federal benefits.
