BENTON COUNTY, SR-191 over I-40:
Wednesday March 19
through Wednesday March 26:  At present there is a lane shift/closures eastbound westbound I-40 at MM 133.0.

Monday March 17 through Thursday March 20, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound at MM 133.0, for demolition of existing bridge deck, on overpass bridge.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

Beginning Friday March 14 through Thursday May 22:  I-40 overhead bridge at MM 133.0 (State Route 191) will be CLOSED.

Friday March 21, 8:00 p. m. through Monday March 24, 6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound at MM 133.0, for demolition of existing bridge deck, on overpass bridge.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over an overflow and the Big Sandy River. Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ lane restriction.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over the Rutherford Fork Obion River and overflows.  Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 9.5’ lane restriction.

CHESTER COUNTY, SR-22:  Bridge Repair on State Route 22 over Dry Creek at the intersection of Willis Road. Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  A signal system is active and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 11’ lane restriction.  A detour will be put in place for Willis Road during the lane closure.

CROCKETT/GIBSON COUNTY, SR-188:  Construction of five (5) concrete box beam bridges on State Route 188 at the Crockett/Gibson County line.  The roadway is CLOSED with a detour route posted.

DYER COUNTY, SR-104:  Bridge Repair on State Route 104 over overflow.  A signal system will be utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ 9” lane restriction.

FAYETTE COUNTY, I-40, Interchange at SR 222:  Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  The east and westbound shoulders at Exit 42 are CLOSED.

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-194:  Six (6) bridges are being replaced on State Route 194 between State Route 57 and State Route 15 (US-64).  Motorists should watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zones.

FAYETTE and SHELBY COUNTY, (SR-385) Future I-269:  Construction of I-269 from the interchange with State Route 385 to the Mississippi State line.  The project intersects with US 72 (State Route 86) in the area of the Mann Road intersection.  State Route 86 is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge construction in the median.  Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zone and also crossing the roadway.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-104:  A widening project from west of State Route 188 to Milligan Lane and Gumwoods Road will result in temporary lane closures each day.  Traffic has been shifted from east of State Route 188 to the proposed eastbound lanes.

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-18:  Construction of a concrete box beam bridge and paving on State Route 18 over Cypress Creek.  Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  There will be lane closures north and southbound with a temporary signal in place.  One lane will remain open, in each direction.

HAYWOOD COUNTY,  I-40:  Construction for the West Tennessee Solar Farm and Welcome Center, including removal of Albright Road bridge. Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  There are no scheduled closures.

HAYWOOD COUNTY,  I-40:  Construction at the intersection of State Route 76 & I-40 at the weigh station ramps.  Wednesday March 19 through Tuesday March 25, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound I-40 for construction of ramps between mile marker 48.5 and mile marker 51.0, for placement of temporary asphalt over rumble strip, removing and restriping of the traffic lanes and placement of temporary barrier rail.

LAKE COUNTY, SR-22:  A widening project on State Route 22, south of State Route 21 in Tiptonville to existing State Route 22 (Cates Landing Rd.).  There are lane shifts throughout the project.  State Route 22 is closed from intersection of State Route 212 and Vaughn Road North to Cates Landing Road. Detour 3.5 miles on Vaughn Road to State Route 22 Cates Landing Road.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, SR-3:  Bridge Repair (2) on US-51 (State Route 3) over Chambers Branch.  Traffic is reduced to one lane with a 10’ 6” lane restriction.  Speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, SR-208:  A widening project on State Route 208 (State Route 209/Cleveland Street) beginning at State Route 209 (Washington Street) and extending to State Route 208 at US-51/State Route 3 in Ripley.  There will be temporary lane closures daily.

MADISON COUNTY, US-70 (SR-1): A bridge repair project over Gilmers Creek. Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  There will be lane closures in both the eastbound and westbound directions on State Route 1, with a temporary signal, for duration of the project.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 11’ lane restriction.  Signal was activated January 22, 2014. On March 14, 2014, traffic was reduced to one lane with a 11’ 3” lane restriction.

MADISON COUNTY, (SR-5): A bridge repair project over Middle Fork Forked Deer River.  Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  There is a lane shift/closure on State Route 5 near Porter Cable.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55:  The I-55 Welcome Center is CLOSED due to construction of a new facility.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 8:
Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  The left inside shoulder of the exit ramp for westbound Interstate 40 to Second Street, will be closed for about six months.  The exit ramp from Westbound I-40 to Riverside Drive has been narrowed to 14 feet and “wide loads” are restricted from using this.  The right shoulder of the entrance ramp from Riverside Drive to I-40 Eastbound has been narrowed to 12 feet and “wide loads” are restricted from using this. 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 9:
Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26: 
Eastbound lane of I-40 is closed. The closure is required for safe access and egress for seismic retrofit on the Arkansas approach of the Hernando DeSoto Bridge. The lane closure is anticipated to remain in place until June 2014.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Memphis Smartway Transportation (ITS) I-40 beginning at SR-177 (Germantown Road) in Shelby County extending to Braden Road Overpass in Fayette County: Wednesday March 19 through Tuesday March 25 Excluding Saturday night, 8:00 p. m.-2:00 a.m.:  There will be temporary night time lane closures, for the purpose of installing wireless communication devices. .  Weather Permitting.

  • I-40, Shelby County eastbound lane from MM 18.7 to MM 19.1, one lane will remain open. 
  • I-40, Shelby County westbound lane from MM 27.4 to MM 26.2, one lane will remain open

SHELBY COUNTY-Annual Preventative and Unscheduled Maintenance of the Memphis I. T. S. System Equipment, including the TMC  Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  There are no scheduled closures.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 westbound over Levee Road: Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  The westbound shoulder will be closed for the duration of the project.  Levee Road between Thomas Street (State Route 3) and N. Bellevue Blvd. will be CLOSED during construction.  Detour route is posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over Mississippi River: Thursday March 20 through Wednesday March 26, 7:00 a. m.-3:30 p. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound from the Arkansas State Line to the Riverside Drive Exit, to replace lights on the steel structure.  Two lanes will be closed, one lane will remain open, this will not be simultaneously.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 from west of Davies Plantation Road LM-22.98 to the Fayette County line LM-30.60: Sunday March 23 through Thursday March 27:  There will be temporary lane closure eastbound and westbound between US-64/Exit 18 and the Shelby/Fayette County line (MM 23.0 to MM 28.0), for milling and patching operations.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 North of the McLemore Avenue Exit: Monday March 24 through Friday March 28, 9:00 a. m.-3:30 p. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures southbound between mile marker 11.4 and mile marker 11.9, for drilling equipment to utilize shoulder to access soil boring locations along west of right-of-way fence.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 North of SR-385 to North of Walnut Grove Rd.: Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26A widening project on I-240 will cause temporary lane closures. Traffic has been moved to temporary ramps at the Walnut Grove interchange.

Monday, March 17 through Friday, March 21, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound I-240, 2 left lanes at MM 14.0 to MM 15.5 and westbound I-240, 1 left lane at MM 15.5 to MM 14.0, for the construction of overhead sign footings in median at select locations and the associated concrete tapers at these foundations.

Saturday, March 22, 6:00 a. m. through Sunday, March 23, 6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound I-240, 2 left lanes at MM 14.0 to MM 15.5 and westbound I-240, 1 left lane at MM 15.5 to MM 14.0, for the construction of overhead sign footings in median at select locations and the associated concrete tapers at these foundations.

LOOK AHEAD:  Monday March 24 through Thursday March 27, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound I-240, 2 left lanes at MM 15.0 to MM 13.0 and westbound I-240, 1 left lane at MM 13.0 to MM 15.0, for the construction of overhead sign footings in median at select locations and the associated concrete tapers at these foundations.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

LOOK AHEAD:  Friday March 28 through Saturday March 29, 8:00 p. m.-12:00 p. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound I-240, 2 left lanes at MM 13.0 to MM 15.0 and westbound I-240, 1 left lane at MM 15.0 to MM 13.0, for the construction of overhead sign footings in median at select locations and the associated concrete tapers at these foundations.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40/I-240 Phase 2 Interchange Improvements Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  Modification of the I-40/I-240 interchange.
Monday February 10:  The right lane of eastbound Summer Avenue was CLOSED, beginning just west of the existing I-240 northbound bridge over Summer Avenue, for the installation of portable barrier rail to allow for construction of Abutment 1/Wall 12.  This will be a permanent lane closure that will last approximately 2 months.

Saturday, March 15, 2014 the right lane of eastbound Sam Cooper Boulevard was closed for construction. The lane closure begins at the White Station Rd. overpass (Exit 10A) and extends to the bridge over the Wolf River. The existing ramp (Exit 10B) from eastbound Sam Cooper Boulevard to I-240 and westbound I-40 will remain open during this construction.

Saturday, March 22, 2014 beginning at 6:30 a.m. the right lane of westbound Sam Cooper Boulevard will be closed for construction. The lane closure begins at the bridge over the Wolf River (Exit 10B) and extends to the White Station Rd. overpass (Exit 10A). The existing ramp (Exit 10B) which carries westbound I-40 will remain open during this construction. The Sam Cooper Boulevard lane closures are weather dependent.  Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-14 (US-61):  A replacement of the bridge over Illinois Central Railroad from South Parkway to McLemore Avenue.  Roadway is CLOSED, a detour route is posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-86 (US-72):  Construction on State Route 86 (US-72) for a widening project north of Quinn Road to State Route 57 (Poplar Avenue) in Collierville. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction.  South Rowlett Street is closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the State Route 86 bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  Motorists may use Wilson Street to Harris Street as a detour.

SHELBY COUNTY, Grade, drain, pave SR-177 (Germantown Rd); Crestridge Rd to Stout Rd:
Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26: 
There will be intermittent lane closures on State Route 177 (Germantown Road), between Germantown City Limits (LM-1.65) to Stout Road (LM-2.40).  Flagmen will be utilized during these closures to ensure safety from oncoming traffic and construction equipment.  The closures will be intermittent and for as short a time as possible.

NOTE:  The outside lane on northbound State Route 177 at the Stout intersection is closed due to a gas line leak that MLGW has not yet completed repairing.  This MLGW work is not part of the project.  However, we have notified MLGW of our concerns with the partially open hole and have asked that they cover it completely with roadway plates until they can complete the repair and open the lane.

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Retracing of Pavement Marking with Paint:  Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26:  There are no scheduled closures.

Friday March 21, 8:00 p. m. through Monday March 24, 6:00 a. m.:  There will be night/day time lane closures at the following locations, for the repair of damaged concrete.
I-40, Madison County eastbound lanes from MM 93.5 to MM 95.5, one lane will remain open.  Work will consist of sawing joints and sealing.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Guardrail Repair
Monday March 24
through Saturday March 29, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, to repair damaged guardrail.  Weather Permitting.

  • I-40, Fayette County, eastbound (MM 35.0 to MM 39.0), one lane will remain open.
  • I-40, Henderson County, eastbound & westbound (MM 98.0 to MM 116.0), one lane will remain open.
  • I-40, Madison County, eastbound & westbound (MM 81.0 to MM 93.0), one lane will remain open.  Also, this will include a partial ramp closure at the I-40 westbound “On” ramp at Exit 93.
  • I-40, Shelby County, eastbound (MM 1.0 to MM 6.0), one lane will remain open.
  • I-240, Shelby County, southbound (MM 30.0 to MM 31.0), one lane will remain open.

TDOT MAINTENANCE:
Wednesday March 19 through Wednesday March 26, 9:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m.
There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.  Weather Permitting.
