Arrests Made At Northwest Correctional Complex

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Correction Office of Investigations and Compliance has made a significant arrest in West Tennessee Region resulting in the indictment of five people.  The arrests stem from an investigation into drug trafficking into the Northwest Correctional Complex.

Remeka Carraway, Latonya Johnson, Meri Kristin Doyle, Chelsey Pitts and inmate Monterious Bell were indicted by a Lake County grand jury on one count of introduction of contraband in a penal facility and conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal facility.  Doyle, Pitts, Carraway and Johnson were also charged with possession of a schedule VI drug with intent to deliver.

Doyle and Pitts were former correctional officers at Northwest Correctional Complex.  Both resigned several months ago.
