TDOT Announces Projects for October Bid Letting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has released the projects for which it will accept bids on October 18, 2013.

TDOT will open bids on a total of 53 contracts, including 86 projects in 95 counties. TDOT will initiate resurfacing projects on several Tennessee interstate corridors, including I-40, I-81, I-75, I-24, and I-65. Bids will also be received on a number of maintenance projects such as cable barrier repair, bridge repair and intersection improvements.

The October Bid Letting also includes several construction projects, including a grade separated intersection on SR 1 and SR 96 in Rutherford County, the widening of SR 33 in Knox County, the rehabilitation of two bridges on I-40 over the Harpeth River in Cheatham County, and modification of the I-26 interchange at SR 75 (Exit 13) in Washington County.

A number of safety improvement projects and state industrial access projects are also featured in the October Bid Letting.

Bids on all projects will be received electronically by 10:00 a.m. CDT on October 18, 2013. TDOT has 30 days to analyze each bid and award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. Bids may be rejected due to a number of factors.
