Search For Minimum Trustee Inmate

PIKEVILLE – The Department of Correction is searching for an inmate who walked away from a work detail near the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex Sunday evening.  Jeffery Lynn Carter, 32, was a minimum-custody trustee and was working on the prison’s farm when he left at approximately 7:00 p.m. on August 11, 2013.

Carter jumped from the tractor he was driving and ran into a wooded area. He is believed to be contained inside that wooded area where search efforts continue this morning.  Carter was serving a 21-year sentence for convictions in Davidson County of aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery.  His sentence was set to expire in 2018.

Carter is a white male, 5’8”, 165 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the Tennessee Department of Correction at 615.741.7144
