There will be no temporary lane closures permitted on interstates or state routes beginning at noon on Friday, May 24 through 6am Tuesday, May 28 in observance of Memorial Day Holiday

BENTON COUNTY I-40:  Resurfacing beginning east of SR-191 (approximately mile marker 131) and extending to west of the Tennessee River on I-40 near Birdsong Road (approximately mile marker 134) at the Tennessee River Bridge.

  • Tuesday May 28 through Thursday May 30, 7:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary night time lane closures eastbound (MM 133.0 to MM 135.0), for milling and paving operations, one lane will remain open.  THP will assist with traffic control.

BENTON COUNTY SR-1 (US-70):  Bridge repair work over CSX Railroad at log mile 0.59 will cause traffic to be reduced from two lanes to one (12’ lane) in each direction, with temporary traffic signal, for the duration of this project.

BENTON COUNTY SR-147:  Bridge repair work over Sugar Creek at log mile 0.27.  Roadway is OPEN to traffic with occasional temporary closures.

CARROLL COUNTY SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over overflow log mile 15.69 and the Big Sandy River log mile 15.80.  There will be possible temporary lane closures in both directions on State Route 424.  Flagmen will be used while the signal system is being installed to direct traffic until bridge replacement is complete.  One lane will remain open.

CHESTER COUNTY SR-22:  Bridge repair over State Route 22 at log mile 3.91.  Roadway is now OPEN to traffic with occasional temporary closures.

CROCKETT/GIBSON COUNTY SR-188:  Construction of five (5) concrete box beam bridges on State Route 188 over overflows at log mile 11.93, 11.98 in Crockett, and log mile 0.08, 0.11 & 0.25 in Gibson.  Roadway will be CLOSED. Detour route posted.

DYER COUNTY, SR-78:  Resurfacing beginning at State Route 104 (Forrest Street) log mile 0.00 and extending to north of Radio Road log mile 2.75.  There will temporary lane closures southbound for milling operations.

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-57:  Grading, drainage, and paving on State Route 57 including construction of a bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad.  Traffic is now on the new bridge, mainline is OPEN.

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-76:  Grading, drainage, and paving on State Route 76 over Overflow and North Fork Wolf River for construction of 2 bridges.  Grading, drainage, and paving on State Route 76 for construction of a bridge over Overflow and a box bridge over Branch.  Traffic is controlled with a temporary signal and is reduced to one lane in each direction.

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-194:  Six (6) bridges are being replaced on State Route 194 between State Route 57 and State Route 15 (US-64).  Construction has begun on all segments of this project.  This will cause a reduction in lanes from two to one every day by the use of temporary signals at the Wolf River and overflow bridges.  Construction activities are completed at two of the bridges log mile 8.51 & 9.27.  Motorists should watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zones.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-5:  Resurfacing beginning at US-45W (State Route 5) beginning at State Route 366 log mile 1.16 and extending to south of 18th Avenue log mile 2.80.  There will be temporary lane closures each day for milling operations.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-76:  (Recovery Act Project) Intermittent lane closures northbound and southbound may occur in various locations throughout the project.  All lanes are OPEN to traffic.  Motorists are advised to travel with extreme caution.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-104:  A widening project from west of State Route 188 to Milligan Lane and Gumwoods Road will result in temporary lane closures each day.  Traffic has been shifted from east of State Route 188 to the proposed eastbound lanes.  Contractor is hauling rock and structures are being built.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-185:  Bridge repair work on State Route 185 over WTNN Railroad the roadway is currently OPEN with occasional temporary closures.

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-15:  A widening project between East of Margin Street to near Hornsby Loop Road will result in a lane shift during the week.  Grading work is in progress on south side of State Route 15.  Traffic has been shifted to the proposed west bound lanes.  Utility work is in progress.

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-18:  Grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box beam bridge and paving on State Route 18 over Cypress Creek log mile 29.89.  There will be lane closures southbound and northbound on SR-18 with temporary signal, with flagmen present, for the duration of the project.  One lane will remain open, in each direction.  The signal has not been activated as of right now. Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

HARDIN COUNTY, SR-114:  Bridge Repair over the Tennessee River at log mile 3.22 at Clifton.

  • Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29There will be lane shifts eastbound and westbound on State Route 114, with flagmen, for bridge repair work.

HAYWOOD COUNTY, I-40:  Resurfacing on I-40 beginning west of Mercer Rd log mile16.74 and extending to the Madison County line log mile 23.89.

  • Tuesday May 28 through Thursday May 30, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound on I-40 for milling and paving operations.  One lane will remain open.  THP will assist with traffic control.

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-20:  A widening project on State Route 20 (US-412) from State Route 114 to the Decatur County Line will result in temporary lane closures every day. All traffic has been shifted to westbound lanes throughout the project.  Wallace Road, Boren Road and Union Baptist are now OPEN.  Flagmen will be present.  Motorists are advised to use caution when going through a construction project.

LAKE COUNTY, SR-22:  A widening project on State Route 22, south of State Route 21 in Tiptonville to existing State Route 22 (Cates Landing Rd.).  Trucks entering and exiting roadway.  There are lane shift throughout the project.  Motorists are advised to use caution when going through a construction project.

LAKE/OBION COUNTY, Reelfoot Lake on SR-21:  There will be temporary lane closures west bound from Sta.7.0 to Sta. 8.0, for placement of rock.  Motorists are advised to use caution when going through a construction project.

MADISON COUNTY, I-40 between Mile Marker 78-Mile Marker 79:

  ·    Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29:  Daytime bridge repair work over the West TN Railroad is ongoing.  Lane shifts and inside shoulder closed, speed limit reduced to 60 MPH, in eastbound and westbound direction, near Exit 79.

  • Friday May 31, 8:00 p. m. through Monday June 03, 6:00 a.m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound at log mile11.90, for pavement repairs beginning with cutouts and cold planning of I-40.  An I-40 lane shift will be utilized to direct traffic through the work zone until work is complete.

MCNAIRY COUNTY, SR-224:  Grading, drainage, construction of three (3) box beam bridges and paving on State Route 224 over Owl Creek, Lick Creek and Clarey Creek.  Roadway is OPEN to traffic at Owl Creek and Clarey Creek.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

MCNAIRY COUNTY, SR-224:  Grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box beam bridge and paving on State Route 224 over Graham Creek at log mile 10.61, will result in temporary lane closures daily.  Beginning

Wednesday April 10, 2013, roadway will be CLOSED until Tuesday October 15, 2013.  Detour route is posted.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

OBION COUNTY, Future I-69:  Grading, drainage, construction of 9 bridges, and paving on Future I-69 south of State Route 5/State Route 22 to west of State Route 21.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

OBION COUNTY, SR-22:  Resurfacing beginning north of the ramp from US-45E (SR-43) log mile 24.90 and extending to Obion County line log mile 29.64.  There will be temporary lane closures westbound for paving operations,

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55:  Grading, drainage, paving at the existing Welcome Center.  Welcome Center is CLOSED.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue:

  • Monday May 20 through Thursday May 23, 9:00 a. m.-3:00 p. m.:  There will be intermittent lane closures southbound and northbound, inside and outside lanes (MM 9.0 to MM 8.0),  for striping.  Two southbound and two northbound lanes will remain open.  Exit 9 (Mallory Exit) is OPEN to traffic.
  • Friday May 24, 9AM-12PM: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound and northbound, inside and outside lanes (MM 9.0 to MM 8.0),  for striping.  Two southbound and two northbound lanes will remain open.  Exit 9 (Mallory Exit) is OPEN to traffic.
  • Tuesday May 28 & Wednesday May 29, 9AM-3PM:  There will be intermittent lane closures southbound and northbound, inside and outside lanes (MM 9.0 to MM 8.0),  for striping.  Two southbound and two northbound lanes will remain open.  Exit 9 (Mallory Exit) is OPEN to traffic.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 8:

  • Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29:  The left (inside) shoulder of Ramp J, the exit ramp for westbound Interstate 40 to Second Street, will be closed for about six months.  Ramp J will remain open at all times.  The right (outside) shoulder and lane of Ramp IL, the entrance ramp from Front Street to I-40 Westbound, will be closed for another 1 to 2 weeks.  Ramp IL will remain open at all times.  The right (outside) shoulder and lane of Ramp NO, the exit ramp from I-40 Eastbound to Riverside Drive and Front Street, will also be closed for approximately 1 to 2 weeks.  Ramp NO will remain open at all times.  Work includes: installation of structural steel along Ramps D, construction of pier caps on Ramps D and NO, construction of new footings, retrofitting columns and pier caps on the main line between Main Street and Third Street, and installation of structural steel on the main line between Main Street and Third Street.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 9:

·      Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29:  Work is shut down because high water is flooding the site.  The eastbound right line of I-40 was opened to traffic on Friday, May 17, 2013.  All traffic lanes across the I-40 bridge are open to traffic.  River stage forecasts indicate that the contractor should be able to return to work after the Memorial Day weekend.  The Contractor intends to reinstall the eastbound lane closure on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Memphis Smartway Transportation (ITS) I-40 beginning at SR-177 (Germantown Road) in Shelby County extending to Braden Road Overpass in Fayette County

  • Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29: There are no scheduled closures.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 North of SR-385 to North of Walnut Grove Rd.:  Grading, drainage, and paving on I-240. 

Installation and construction of walls continue.  Traffic has been switched to new temporary exit ramp on eastbound I-240 to travel Walnut Grove.  Intermittent lane closures will occur throughout the project.  The moment slabs for Noise Wall 2 south of Walnut Grove are 98% complete.  Noise panel installation for remaining portion of Noise Wall 2 should begin, weather permitting this week.  Drilled caissons for Noise Wall 1 should begin within the next 2 weeks and panel installation to follow shortly thereafter.  Moment slab for barrier north of Poplar on eastbound I-240 is ongoing.  Moment slabs for barrier rail should begin on Wall 8 north of Walnut Grove on westbound I-240 within the next 2 weeks.  Retaining Wall 10 north of Poplar on westbound I-240 is currently under construction and is approximately 65% complete. Wall 9 which is north of Wall 10 on westbound I-240 will begin as soon as Wall 10 is complete. Construction of CD Road 1 south of Poplar on eastbound I-240 should begin within the next week, weather permitting.  The contractor has swapped traffic over to the new temporary ramps on west side of I-240 at Walnut Grove.

SHELBY COUNTY, Resurfacing on I-240 beginning east of I-55 LM-5.70 and extending to east of Perkins Road

  • Tuesday May 28 through Thursday May 30, 7:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound mile marker 17.0 to mile marker 25.0, for milling and paving operations.  Two lanes will remain closed in each direction. One lane will remain open.  THP will assist with traffic control.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-1 (US-51, Danny Thomas Blvd.) over I-40:

  • Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29:  Bridge repair work over I-40 in Memphis at log mile 3.11. Motorists are advised to travel with caution.
  • Saturday March 16 through Wednesday May 29:  On top of the Danny Thomas Bridge; the North Bound and South Bound, lanes in both directions will be restricted to one lane so repair and replacement of joints can be conducted.  Inside and outside lane will be switched as needed leaving one lane in each direction open.  I-40 Westbound Ramp C will remain closed during duration of this phase.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-57 (US-72 Poplar Ave.) Miller Farms Rd. to Dogwood Rd.

  • Wednesday May 22 & Thursday May 23Intermittent lane closures will be used as needed on eastbound and westbound Poplar Avenue/SR-57 between Riverdale (MM 11.0) and Kimbrough (MM 13.0).  Also, intermittent lane closures will be used as needed on NB/SB Germantown Road/SR-177 and NB/SB West Street (SR-177)/Farmington.  One lane will remain open in each direction.
  • Friday May 24, 12PM:  Intermittent lane closures will be used as needed on eastbound and westbound Poplar Avenue/SR-57 between Riverdale (MM 11.0) and Kimbrough (MM 13.0).  Also, intermittent lane closures will be used as needed on NB/SB Germantown Road/SR-177 and NB/SB West Street (SR-177)/Farmington.  One lane will remain open in each direction.

SHELBY COUNTY -Grade, drain, pave SR-177 (Germantown Rd); Crestridge Rd to Stout Rd

LOOK AHEAD:  Wednesday May 29 through Wednesday June 05:  There will be intermittent lane closures on State Route 177 (Germantown Road), between Germantown City Limits ( LM 1.65) to Stout Road (L.M. 2.40).  These closures will be mainly for the mobilization of equipment and the topping and clearing of trees.  Flagmen will be utilized during these closures to ensure safety from oncoming traffic and falling tree limbs.  The closures will be intermittent and for as short a time as possible to remove any limbs that may have fallen into the roadway.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-86 (US-72):  Grading, drainage and paving on State Route 86 (US-72) for a widening project that includes construction of a box beam bridge, north of Quinn Road to State Route 57 (Poplar Avenue) in Collierville.  On June 04, Sycamore Road at State Route 86/US-72 was closed but with access for residence on Sycamore Road from East Shelby Drive.  A detour route is posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, -Bridge Repair (5) on SR-14 over overflows LM-26.28, LM-26.58 & LM-26.74, the Loosahatchie River LM-26.90 & overflow LM-27.25

  • Friday May 24 7:00 p. m. through Monday May 27, 6:00 a.m.:  The repair of the bridge on State Route 14 over overflow at log mile 26.74 will cause traffic to be reduced from two lanes to one in the northbound direction, with temporary traffic signal, for the duration of this project.  There are no scheduled closures for this weekend.

SHELBY COUNTY, US-61 (SR-14) beginning at South Parkway and extending to McLemore Avenue, & bridge over the Illinois Central Railroad

  • Wednesday May 22 through Wednesday May 29:  This section of roadway was CLOSED August 15, 2012.  Northbound traffic has been diverted east along South Parkway, North onto Latham and West along McLemore.  Third Street has been reduced to one lane in each direction south of McLemore approaching the bridge at which point, southbound Third Street is diverted east along Lucy Street, South along Latham and West onto South Parkway.  Motorist may also utilize Florida Street in lieu of (which parallels Latham) Latham.  Also, Patton Street on the south side of South Parkway is CLOSED.  Dement's subcontractor has started demolition of the bridge on the south end of the project and Shelby Electric has removed light poles off the bridge.  Parsons suggested and installed Florida Street as a truck route because of the difficulties with the turning radii along the Latham Street Detour.  Parsons has suggested a minor change to eastbound McLemore due to truck traffic making a left turn on to northbound Third Street.  The City of Memphis increased the timing for the eastbound traffic and that seems to be sufficient at this time.  Biggs, the subcontractor performing the bridge demolition which is working 99% complete.  Parson's is contacting the City of Memphis Sewer Division concerning the sewer line conflict with the bridge footing.  The City completed rerouting the sewer.  Ferrell continues the installation of new box culvert at the concrete channel.  Dement drove the load test pile and performed load test at Bent 1.  An easement issue has risen at Bent 1 in that the skew if the footings at the tracks infringes upon the Railroad’s right-of-way.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR 385:  Between State Route 57 and State Route 193, grading, drainage, and bridge construction on State Route 385 from State Route 57 Poplar Ave. in Piperton to State Route 193 Macon Rd. in Fisherville. The contractor is currently finishing work on this project.  Trucks maybe entering the highway in the area of State Route 193 (Macon Road) and State Route 385 intersection.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution through construction projects.

TDOT REGION 4 Retracing of Pavement Marking with Paint

Monday May 20 through Thursday May 23, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p. m. (**) & 7:00 a. m.-8:00 p. m.:  There will be day time “rolling” lane closures at the following locations, for retracing of pavement markings.

Friday May 24, 7:00 a. m. 12:00 p. m.:  There will be day time “rolling” lane closures at the following locations, for retracing of pavement markings. Contractor is starting on Decatur and will start on Henry when finished.

 

  • SR-54, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 24.92), one lane will remain open.**
  • SR-54, Henry County, both directions (LM 10.79 to LM 11.43), one lane will remain open.**
  • SR-69, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 31.34), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-69A, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 6.21), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-77, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 10.35), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-114, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 6.04), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-119, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 4.74), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-140, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 40.45), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-218, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 2.99), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-218, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 17.63), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-356, Henry County, both directions (LM 0.00 to LM 0.95), one lane will remain open.

 

TDOT REGION 4 On-Call Guardrail

Wednesday May 22 & Thursday May 23, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, to repair damaged guardrail.

  • I-40, Madison County, eastbound & westbound (MM 83.0 to MM 91.0), one lane will remain open.
  • I-40, Madison County, eastbound & westbound (MM 91.0 to MM 98.0), one lane will remain open.

Tuesday May 28 through Thursday May 30, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:

  • I-40, Haywood/Fayette Counties eastbound & westbound (MM 30.0 to MM 44.0), one lane will remain open.
  • I-40, Shelby County, eastbound & westbound (MM 16.0 to MM 25.0), one lane will remain open, two lanes when possible.  Also, this will include a temporary partial ramp closure at the I-40 eastbound “Off” ramp at Exit 16.
  • I-40, Shelby County, eastbound & westbound (MM 25.0 to MM 26.0), one lane will remain open.

TDOT REGION 4 On-Call Pavement Marking (Roadsafe Traffic Systems, Inc.)

Tuesday May 28 through Thursday May 30, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, to retrace pavement markings.

  • I-40, Shelby County, eastbound & westbound log mile 8.00 to log mile 27.40 Fayette County Line, one lane will remain open.

TDOT MAINTENANCE

  • Wednesday May 22 & Thursday May 23, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.:  There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
  • Friday May 24, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p. m.:  There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
  • Tuesday May 28 & Wednesday May 29, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

TIPTON COUNTY, US-51 (SR-3):  Bridge repair work northbound over Big Creek log mile 1.66 will result in temporary lane closures each day, for the duration of this project.  Beginning April 16, 2013 there will be with a 14’ 0” width restriction and speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH, for the duration of the project.  One lane will remain open.

TIPTON COUNTY, US-51 (SR-3):  Resurfacing beginning at Hope Street log mile 18.78 and extending to the Hatchie River bridge log mile 22.08.  There will be temporary lane closures each day, for the duration of this project.  One lane will remain open.

TIPTON COUNTY SR-384:  Construction of a concrete box beam bridge over drainage ditch log mile 7.08, including grading, drainage, and paving.  Temporary traffic light was turned on November 26, 2012 and will remain on until completion of project.  The northbound lane will be CLOSED.  There will be one 11’ lane on bridge.

WEAKLEY COUNTY SR-22:  Resurfacing beginning at the Weakley County line log mile 0.00 and extending to the State Route 22 connector bridges/drainage canal log mile 3.10.  There will be temporary lane closures each day, for the duration of this project.  One lane will remain open.
