Chattanooga Man Faces Charges as a Result of October 2012 Boating Crash

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wildlife officers have filed charges against a Chattanooga man as a result of an October 2012 boating crash on Chickamauga Lake.

Jason D. Payne, (40), was charged after TWRA officers secured warrants on Reckless Operation of a Vessel Boat, Boating Under the Influence (BUI), and simple possession of drugs. The charges come as a result of the boating crash that injured Payne and two other persons. Payne was the operator of the vessel when it crashed into a dock on Chickamauga Lake Oct. 13, 2012.

Payne turned himself in at the Hamilton County jail and has been released on $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Hamilton County General Sessions Court on April 1, 2013.
